Services

Powering tomorrow takes more than a mindset. It takes proven experience and a reputation for excellence.

Because we know and understand renewable energy, we’ve built a strong portfolio of services designed to help our clients reach their goals, no matter how steep they may seem. These services are driven by our understanding of the technology, key market drivers, supply chain, and fundamental market characteristics of five primary renewable energy resources - Wind, Solar, Geothermal, Biomass, and Energy Efficiency.

Here are the different ways we can help your project.

Accounting and Tax
The renewable energy industry is marked by consolidation, technology innovation, flux in government policy, and use of complex financial transactions to fund projects. We provide clients with a variety of accounting and tax services based upon our knowledge of industry trends. This includes knowledge of current industry rules, regulations, and pronouncements such as GAAP Consulting that assist management in fairly recording the unique character of a renewable energy transaction and its power source.

Financial Structuring
We assist clients by helping them raise the maximum capital within their transaction budget. In doing this, we help identify and create financial structures that complement power purchase agreements (PPAs), tax equity finance, and debt that can enjoy tax credits and other financial incentives while minimizing counterparty risk. Our financial structuring services extend to the entire renewable energy supply chain including product manufacturers, project developers, electricity generators, utilities, and investors who are seeking to raise funds for start-up operations, on-going operations, and project development (e.g. wind farms, solar installations).

RREx Report
Reznick Group Renewable Energy Examination (RREx) – For projects financed by third party entities and supported by power purchase agreements, each financial transaction is based on a foundation of financial, technological and legal assumptions specific to the Renewable Energy Industry. The RREx Report is a pre-certification examination we perform to ensure a power producer is capable of meeting offtaker and investor expectations. Independent power producers and developers can then submit this report to investors, lenders and off-takers.

Valuation
In current market conditions, consolidation and vertical integration are prevalent. Stakeholders and key decision makers are calling for valuation of assets that reflect the realities of the market. Through our understanding of key fundamentals within the renewable energy industry, we determine the valuation of a project to substantiate its economic substance. This helps to mitigate risk for stakeholders and key decision makers.

RREd Report
Reznick Group Renewable Energy Diligence (RREd) – We perform an assessment of the potential risks of a proposed energy project investment and evaluate all relevant aspects of the asset or project company being acquired. The RREd Report is an independent verification of facts and seller representations with a focus on the respective technology. It will demonstrate an investor's due care in the transaction and a good faith effort to minimize risks, within the time and budgetary constraints.

Energy Tax Credit Services
Tax credits are offered to incent renewable energy project development. We perform accounting and tax work related to the partnerships and service arrangements that benefit from energy tax credits by promoting legal compliance.
